Brining My iPhone to Delhi

I'm wondering if it's possible (or will it be a difficult process) to bring my iPhone with me from Canada to Delhi. I was thinking I'd just have to get it unlocked here at home and then when I arrive in Delhi get a sim card & phone plan from a local provider (so I'd avoid crazy roaming charges). Is this doable or have I simplified the procedure? If it's complicated to do I'd rather just buy a phone when I arrive but if it's fairly simple then I would quite like to bring my iPhone with…See More

Black People in Delhi?

Hi Everyone,I'm new to the group so please forgive me if this question has been raised before - I did a quick search and found no results...In the new year I'll be moving to Delhi for 1 year to work/volunteer. I've never been to India but I'm quite excited about this new adventure since I love to travel and explore different cultures. One thing I've been wondering a lot about is whether or not there are any black people in Delhi? Are there any black expats or is it common to see black tourists…See More

Profile Information

What is your nationality?
Toronto
Introduce yourself shortly to other members of DEC. [ What you would be doing here and till when would you be staying in Delhi ]
Torontonian, wannabe traveler, bookworm, meat eating animal lover, blogger who loves design, photography & learning. Imperfect perfectionist.

Moving to Delhi early in 2011 for 1 year.

Exciting...& scary.
What you expect to find on DEC and what can you offer to other members?
On DilliNet I expect to find advice, suggestions, learn more about life in Delhi in general, & maybe make a friend or two that I can hang out with when I arrive in Delhi.

I can offer...well, I've never been to Delhi so I can't offer much in terms of advice or suggestions...yet. Once I arrive I expect that will change & I'll be able to offer more first-hand advice.

To the right people (no one sketchy of course) I suppose I can also offer my friendship. I'm a pretty cool girl and am always open to meeting new people.
What languages do you speak?
English is my native language so I'm 100% fluent. I took Spanish in high school so I still know a bit. Currently, I'm taking Hindi classes - so I'm a total beginner.
